By accessing or using BetterRoads ("the Service") at betterroads.xyz, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

BetterRoads is a community platform that allows users to report road conditions, traffic control issues, and city cleanliness problems by placing pins on a map with photos and descriptions. The Service is provided as-is for civic and community benefit.

3. User Accounts

To submit reports you must create an account using your email address, Google, or Microsoft login. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your account secure
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Providing accurate name and contact information

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content

By submitting reports, photos, or comments, you confirm that:

• The content is accurate to the best of your knowledge
• You have the right to share any photos you upload
• The content does not contain offensive, illegal, or misleading material
• You grant BetterRoads a non-exclusive license to display your content on the platform

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Submit spam, fake, or duplicate reports
• Harass or abuse other users
• Attempt to hack, exploit, or disrupt the Service
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Scrape or harvest data from the platform
• Impersonate other users or public officials

6. Subscription Plans

BetterRoads offers optional paid plans:

• Free: 2 photos per report, 100-character description
• Basic ($1/year): 5 photos per report, 150-character description
• Pro ($2/year): 8 photos per report, 200-character description, photos in comments

Subscriptions are billed annually. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Refunds are not provided for partial subscription periods.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

BetterRoads is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that reports will be seen or acted upon by any government agency or municipality. The platform is a community tool only.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by California law, BetterRoads and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will note the effective date at the top of this page.
